Our Story & Vision
Journey Home Center for Healing and Transformation was founded on a single conviction: that every person, regardless of their background, deserves access to care that honors all of who they are: their wounds, their faith, their culture, and their deepest potential.
Our Vision
At Journey Home Center, we believe that pain is not merely something to be managed or eliminated. It is something to be understood, traversed, and ultimately transformed. When walked with intention, compassion, and the right support, the journey through suffering can become one of the most profound pathways toward closeness with God and with one's truest self.
We draw on the wisdom embedded in Islamic psychology and spirituality: the heart, when broken open with care, becomes more capable of receiving mercy, meaning, and connection. Healing, in this sense, is not a departure from the sacred. It is a return to it.
"The journey toward wholeness is not a journey away from pain. It is a journey through it, guided by compassion, grounded in faith, and oriented toward something greater than oneself."
Our vision is a world where mental health care and spiritual wellbeing are not separate destinations, but one integrated path, and where every person, especially those in Muslim and underserved communities, has access to that path.
Our Mission
Journey Home Center exists to provide clinically excellent, culturally responsive, and spiritually integrated mental health care for Muslim and underserved communities. We are committed to offering every client a space where their whole identity, emotional, relational, spiritual, and cultural, is not only welcomed, but deeply honored.
We specialize in individual therapy, betrayal trauma recovery, couples and family work, group programming, addiction recovery, and psychoeducational workshops. All services are currently offered via telehealth, allowing us to walk alongside clients wherever they are.
Everything we do is guided by the conviction that the right clinician, at the right time, with the right approach, can change everything.
Islamically Integrated Sex/Porn Addiction Recovery
One of the most significant and underaddressed needs in Muslim communities is access to culturally informed, spiritually sensitive care for sex and pornography addiction and betrayal trauma. These struggles carry deep layers of shame, religious guilt, and relational rupture that are rarely addressed in mainstream treatment settings.
Journey Home Center is committed to being a trusted space where these conversations can happen with both clinical rigor and spiritual groundedness. We work with individuals navigating compulsive sexual behaviors and pornography use, with their partners who have experienced the devastation of betrayal, and with couples working to rebuild trust and connection in the aftermath.
Our approach draws on CSAT-informed recovery principles, Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy, betrayal trauma theory, and Emotion Focused Therapy, holding space for the full complexity of what these experiences involve: the relational wounds, the spiritual crisis, and the deep longing for wholeness that lies beneath them. We believe this work is not only clinical. It is sacred.
Core Values
Spiritual Integration
We honor the sacred dimensions of the healing journey, recognizing that faith, meaning, and connection to God are not peripheral to mental health. They are central to it.
Cultural Responsiveness
We affirm the whole identity of every client, ensuring that culture, community, and lived experience are treated as strengths rather than barriers in the therapeutic process.
Clinical Excellence
Our work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice. We hold ourselves to the highest clinical standards while remaining warm, relational, and deeply human.
Compassionate Presence
We believe healing happens in relationship. Our clinicians show up with genuine care, attunement, and the quiet steadiness of someone committed to walking alongside you, not ahead of you.
Community
We are committed to building systems of support that extend beyond the individual, toward families, communities, and the next generation of clinicians dedicated to this work.
Growth & Training
We invest in the future of Muslim mental health by mentoring and training the next generation of clinicians in spiritually integrated, culturally grounded practice.
Where We Are Going
Journey Home Center is building toward something larger than a single practice. Our vision is to become a recognized pioneer and anchor institution in Muslim mental health: a place where clinically rigorous, spiritually integrated, and community-centered care comes together under one roof.
We are actively developing the infrastructure to train, supervise, and support the next generation of therapists who will carry this work forward, with the same depth, integrity, and cultural grounding that defines everything we do.
Graduate Clinical Training Site
A future field placement site for MSW and LPC students, offering structured supervision rooted in spiritually integrated and culturally responsive clinical practice.
Undergraduate Internship Pipeline
The Journey Home Center Future Clinicians Program prepares undergraduate students for careers in mental health, medicine, and public health through hands-on community and research experience.
Post-Graduate Training
A structured training pathway for newer graduates holding their LSW or LPC, offering supervised clinical experience, mentorship, and specialized training in spiritually integrated and culturally grounded practice. We are committed to equipping early-career clinicians with the depth and skills needed to serve Muslim and underserved communities well.
Community Education & Outreach
Through the planned Journey Home Foundation, we will expand access to mental health education, scholarships, and grant-funded programming. Central to this work is a commitment to conducting community needs assessments so that our programming responds to what people actually need. We think globally and act locally, building resources that are rooted in the specific communities we serve rather than imported from the outside.
Holistic Community Support
We envision a center that supports individuals at every level, not only in the therapy room but through workshops, groups, peer support, and systemic advocacy that addresses the root conditions of suffering.
Systems of Care
Our long-term mission includes working to create durable systems of mental health support within Muslim communities, building capacity, reducing stigma, and ensuring that care is both accessible and sustainable.
Whether you are seeking care for yourself or a loved one, or you share our vision for the future of Muslim mental health, we would love to connect.
